Scholastic General Counsel Transition: Andrew Hedden to Retire, Christopher Lick Steps In

Scholastic Corporation, the renowned publisher responsible for introducing the Harry Potter series to the United States, is set to experience a significant transition within its legal department. The company’s veteran General Counsel, Andrew Hedden, will retire at the end of this month after a considerable tenure since 2008. While Hedden will step down from his current role on May 31, he will continue providing his expertise as a senior counselor within the organization.

The mantle of Scholastic’s chief legal officer will be passed to Christopher Lick, who has served as Deputy General Counsel alongside Hedden since they both started their in-house journeys at the publisher in 2008. Lick’s ascension to the role of General Counsel will officially commence on June 1, as indicated by a securities filing and a company statement.
