The legal battle over who should lead class actions against TikTok for alleged privacy violations involving minors has reached a critical point. At a recent hearing before U.S. District Judge George Wu in Los Angeles, two factions of plaintiffs’ lawyers laid out their cases for leadership of the litigation process. The lawyers are contesting allegations that the popular social media platform violated the privacy of children under 13.
Derek Loeser, representing Seattle’s Keller Rohrback, along with Kiley Grombacher from Bradley/Grombacher in California and Andre Mura from GibbsMura, are leading one group comprised of seven lawyers. Their opposing team consists of two attorneys: Steven Bloch of Silver Golub & Teitell in Connecticut and Eric Kafka from Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll based in New York.
