Survey Reveals Most Lawyers Struggle to Disconnect During Summer Vacations Despite Increased Use of Leave Days

During the summer vacation period, a mere fraction of the legal profession truly disconnects from work, as reported by the American Lawyer. Their recent mental health survey has indicated an increase in the use of vacation days among lawyers. However, the data also reveals that most attorneys find it challenging to completely unplug from their responsibilities.

The survey involved around 3,000 lawyers, mostly from sizable firms with over 200 attorneys, reflecting on their work-life balance and its impact on mental health. Despite the opportunities for rest and relaxation afforded by vacation time, many lawyers continue to stay connected to their work commitments during these breaks.
