Ken Crutchfield Retires as Wolters Kluwer Executive; Jill Weinstein Steps Up to Lead Legal Markets

After a six-year tenure as Vice President and General Manager of Legal Markets at Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory U.S., Ken Crutchfield has announced his retirement. Known for driving the company’s digital transformation efforts, Crutchfield played a pivotal role in the 2021 relaunch of the Cheetah legal research platform, rebranded as VitalLaw. The platform saw further advancements in 2024 with the integration of generative AI capabilities.

In addition to his work on VitalLaw, Crutchfield also led the 2022 launch of a new version of Legisway tailored for the U.S. market, providing a comprehensive matter management solution for small to medium legal departments. Crutchfield, who previously held senior positions at Bloomberg BNA, Thomson Reuters, and LexisNexis, is now venturing into the consulting world with the establishment of Spring Forward Consulting. His new firm will focus on advisory services to legal tech and reg tech sectors, among others.

Jill Weinstein will succeed Crutchfield as the new head of the legal markets segment at Wolters Kluwer. With an impressive track record spanning over three decades at the company, Weinstein previously served as Vice President of Product Management, Research, and Learning within the firm’s tax and accounting division. Her leadership has been credited with enhancing customer experiences and driving business growth. The company expressed confidence in Weinstein’s ability to steer the U.S. Legal Markets segment with a focus on customer-driven innovation.
