L’Oréal Expands into British Skincare with €1 Billion Acquisition of Medik8

International beauty giant L’Oréal is set to expand its portfolio by acquiring a majority stake in UK-based premium skincare brand Medik8 from the mid-market private equity firm Inflexion. While specific terms of the transaction remain undisclosed, reports suggest the deal is estimated to be valued at approximately €1 billion (about $1.14 billion). Leading the legal advisory for the transaction, A&O Shearman has appointed M&A partners Matthew Appleton and Aoife McDermott to spearhead its team in London. They are supported by colleagues specializing in corporate tax, incentives, and antitrust across London and Paris.
