Labaton Keller Sucharow, a leading plaintiff firm, has announced the election of a new chairman following the death of its former leader in April. The firm made the announcement on Wednesday that Eric Belfi, who has been a partner at the firm for nearly 20 years, will assume the role of chairman.
Belfi takes over the position from Christopher Keller, who passed away at age 54. Keller had been named chairman in 2019 and later became a name partner in 2024. Belfi’s extensive tenure with Labaton, combined with his prior roles, positions him as a seasoned leader capable of guiding the firm through its next phase. He has been a prominent member of Labaton’s executive committee since 2013 and also heads the firm’s client development group.
Managing Partner Jonathan Gardner highlighted the strategic significance of Belfi’s election, stating, “Eric’s election as chairman marks a pivotal chapter for our firm. He has long been a trusted voice at the table.”
