The legal action stems from allegations that Fox News falsely reported on a conversation between Newsom and President Donald Trump concerning the deployment of military forces in Los Angeles. Newsom’s legal representation includes notable attorneys experienced in pursuing similar allegations against conservative media entities, such as Micheal Teter and Mark Bankston. If successful, Newsom has stated that any awarded damages would be donated to charity.
