Seventh Circuit Denies Motion to Transfer Case Involving Ex-Judge Posner Over Contract Dispute

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit has rejected a motion to transfer a breach-of-contract case involving former Judge Richard Posner to another circuit. The appeal concerns a lawsuit accusing Posner of not compensating Brian Vukadinovich for his work with Posner’s pro se legal services organization, an issue further complicated by the potential involvement of judges who previously worked with Posner.

Despite concerns regarding impartiality among the judges, the court has not ruled out the possibility of bringing in outside judges if necessary. Chief Judge Diane Sykes noted that a transfer can only occur to resolve a jurisdictional issue. For more on this and the complexities of the case, visit the original article.
