Heather Gerken to Leave Yale Law School for Ford Foundation Presidency

Heather Gerken, Yale Law School’s first female dean, is set to step down from her position in early August, two years prior to the conclusion of her second five-year term, to take on a new role as president of the Ford Foundation. Serving as dean since 2017, Gerken has been recognized for her substantial contributions to legal education, notably enhancing accessibility for underrepresented students. Her successor at Yale Law School will be named on an interim basis.
