Henry Liu, who previously led the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition, has rejoined Covington & Burling as a partner and co-chair of its global antitrust and competition law practice group. Having previously helmed the FTC’s antitrust unit for around 18 months under the Biden administration, Liu was involved in significant merger litigation cases such as the Kroger and Albertsons merger. Liu’s transition back to Covington signifies a strengthening of the firm’s expertise in antitrust and competition law.
