Scott Catlett, a seasoned legal executive with nearly two decades at Yum! Brands, has been appointed as the Chief Legal and Administrative Officer at Inspire Brands, effective September 1. In his new role, Catlett will oversee the company’s legal, human resources, and government affairs teams, reporting directly to CEO Paul Brown. This appointment follows the retirement of Nils Okeson, who dedicated 20 years to Inspire Brands and its subsidiary, Arby’s.
During his tenure at Yum! Brands, Catlett held the position of Chief Legal & Franchise Officer and Corporate Secretary. He played a pivotal role in significant corporate initiatives, including the 2016 spinoff of Yum China Holdings, Inc., and the establishment of Yum’s Center for Franchising Excellence at the University of Louisville in 2021. His extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, franchising, and compliance is expected to be instrumental in his new position at Inspire Brands.
Inspire Brands, headquartered in Atlanta, is a prominent restaurant holding company with a diverse portfolio that includes Arby’s, Baskin-Robbins, Buffalo Wild Wings, Dunkin’, Jimmy John’s, and Sonic Drive-In. Since its inception in 2018, the company has expanded rapidly, now operating over 33,000 restaurants worldwide. This growth has been driven by strategic acquisitions and a focus on innovation within the quick-service restaurant industry.
CEO Paul Brown expressed enthusiasm about Catlett’s addition to the team, stating, “His extensive industry experience and proven leadership will be key drivers of our long-term success.” Catlett reciprocated the sentiment, noting his excitement to join Inspire and contribute to its innovative business model and portfolio of well-established brands.
As Inspire Brands continues to evolve, Catlett’s appointment underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team to support ongoing growth and operational excellence in the competitive fast-food sector.
