Eversheds Sutherland Expands U.S. Reach with New San Francisco Office to Boost International Client Services

Eversheds Sutherland has expanded its U.S. presence by opening a new office in San Francisco’s Financial District. The firm has appointed Bradford Newman, formerly the North America trade secret practice chair at Baker McKenzie, to lead this Northern California outpost.

The San Francisco office, located at 101 California Street, serves as a hub for both local and international lawyers. This strategic expansion aligns with Eversheds Sutherland’s goal of enhancing its capabilities in key U.S. markets and supporting the growing needs of its international clients. The firm has been steadily increasing its U.S. footprint, having opened offices in Chicago and San Diego since 2019.

Since its initial launch in March 2022, the San Francisco office has experienced steady growth, offering services across various sectors, including corporate and M&A, data privacy, product counseling, energy, insurance, technology, and sports. The new office space is designed to foster collaboration among lawyers and clients, reflecting the firm’s commitment to providing comprehensive legal services in one of the nation’s top business and technology markets.

Managing Partner Alan Connell expressed enthusiasm about the development, stating, “We are very excited by this development and the overall extension of our worldwide footprint.” He emphasized the firm’s multidisciplinary expertise and its role as a “one-stop-shop” for internationally-focused companies and financial institutions operating in and from Ireland.

Partner-in-Charge of the San Francisco office, Baird Fogel, highlighted the office’s design, noting, “The office is designed for our global team to get together, collaborate, socialize, and meet with clients.” This approach underscores Eversheds Sutherland’s commitment to creating a dynamic and collaborative environment for its legal professionals and clients.

With over 70 offices in more than 30 countries, Eversheds Sutherland continues to strengthen its global presence, providing a full range of legal services to a diverse client base. The establishment of the San Francisco office marks a significant step in the firm’s ongoing expansion efforts in the United States.
