Archer Aviation Restructures Legal Team Amid Strategic Push for Global eVTOL Deployment

Archer Aviation Inc., a developer of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has announced significant changes within its legal department. Following the departure of Chief Legal Officer Andy Missan earlier this year, the company has promoted Eric Lentell to Chief Legal & Strategy Officer and appointed Aaron Goodman as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

Effective July 21, 2025, Lentell will oversee Archer’s legal, government affairs, and corporate strategy functions. He joined the company in June 2021 and has served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since March 2024. Prior to his tenure at Archer, Lentell held various legal positions in the aviation and technology sectors.

Goodman brings over two decades of experience in business and legal strategy, with a focus on complex litigation. Before joining Archer, he was a partner at Baker McKenzie LLP, where he specialized in litigation and government enforcement. His background also includes a decade at DLA Piper, practicing in litigation, class action, and enforcement groups. Goodman earned his J.D. and M.B.A. from Arizona State University and his B.A. from the University of Southern California.

These leadership changes come as Archer continues to advance its eVTOL aircraft development and certification efforts. In April 2024, the company opened a Washington D.C. office to bolster its government relations, led by former FAA Administrator Billy Nolen as Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer. The office aims to facilitate collaboration with policymakers and regulators as Archer prepares for commercial launch. Additionally, in June 2025, Archer joined a five-country alliance, including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, to streamline the certification and deployment of eVTOL aircraft globally. This initiative seeks to create a seamless pathway for bringing Archer’s aircraft to international markets upon obtaining U.S. FAA type certification. These strategic appointments and initiatives underscore Archer’s commitment to navigating the complex regulatory landscape and advancing the commercialization of electric air taxis.
