Litera Enhances Foundation Platform with Outlook Integration and AI Innovations

In a continuation of its “Road to ILTACON” series of product announcements, legal technology company Litera has revealed enhancements to its Foundation Platform. These updates include pivotal additions such as Microsoft Outlook integration and the expansion of AI functionalities via its Lito assistant.

The Chicago-based company’s Foundation Platform is designed to integrate client relationship management (CRM) data with matter insights, offering a comprehensive experience management system. The latest Outlook integration aims to streamline workflows by allowing lawyers to directly access consolidated client, matter, contact, and relationship data within their email environment.

This integration forms part of a broader platform that encompasses experience management, deal and case insights, enterprise relationship management, and a variety of analytics capabilities. The updates further align the platform with Litera One, the company’s unified interface within Microsoft 365. This alignment enables firms to leverage natural language queries through the AI-powered Lito assistant, which was introduced last week.

An impressive aspect of these enhancements is Lito’s ability to proactively respond to inquiries. For instance, when a client seeks details on a law firm’s mergers and acquisitions experience, Lito can synthesize the information and present pertinent matter and personnel data directly in Outlook.

In addition to these features, other enhancements announced for the Foundation Platform include data synchronization between various systems, AI-driven “what’s market” insights for Word, AI translation of matter descriptions, and updates to support custom deal points and litigation documents.

Legal professionals attending ILTACON can look forward to a presentation by Litera CEO Avaneesh Marwaha in collaboration with Microsoft’s Gbenga Ige on August 11. The company is also hosting demonstrations at Booth #711 and an experience lounge at Booth #815.
