Jus Mundi Unveils Jus AI 2: A Pioneering Legal AI Tool Reshaping International Arbitration Research

Jus Mundi has announced the launch of Jus AI 2, an innovative legal AI assistant that aims to redefine the balance between speed and meticulous research control. The Paris-based firm, known for its advanced research platform catering to the fields of international law and arbitration, positions its second-generation AI system as a resolution to long-standing challenges within legal AI tools. The newly launched assistant is designed to offer swift AI responses without compromising on research quality, a common concession in many existing legal AI solutions.

Jus AI 2 incorporates an architecture centered on what the company terms an “AI planning agent,” which generates multi-step research strategies specific to user queries. Boasting the ability to analyze up to 75,000 documents per minute, Jus AI 2 draws from Jus Mundi’s extensive database, which includes awards, treaties, and rules, in addition to leveraging partnerships with prominent arbitral institutions such as the ICC, AAA-ICDR, and HKIAC.

The platform’s cornerstone is its “Fusion Technology,” which blends probabilistic AI reasoning with deterministic search capabilities. This hybrid approach is intended to enhance the depth of research while maintaining the precision and accuracy required by legal practitioners. According to Jus Mundi, this results in a 125% improvement in retrieval relevancy compared to traditional legal research methods.

The company’s CEO and co-founder, Jean-Rémi de Maistre, emphasized that Jus AI 2 is designed to allay the legal profession’s ongoing concerns regarding AI reliability, particularly in high-stakes situations like multimillion-dollar disputes. He asserted that the platform affirms users’ control over research oversight, marking a significant departure from existing compromises between speed and control in AI solutions. The platform’s commitment to transparency is accentuated by its detailed documentation of reasoning steps and clear source citations, allowing for easy verification of delivered insights.

Jus Mundi’s new offering has been well-received within the arbitration community, serving over 650 teams at major law firms, including Freshfields, Allen & Overy, Shearman & Sterling, White & Case, and Quinn Emanuel. Notably, the company has heavily invested in security certifications, operating within ISO 27001 and SOC II frameworks, with Jus AI 2 carrying ISO 42001 certification, the international framework for responsible AI governance.

De Maistre hinted at the potential for Jus AI 2’s application beyond the domain of international arbitration. “This breakthrough goes beyond arbitration,” he noted, suggesting that while the technology was initially developed for arbitration intelligence, it is poised to become a foundational tool for legal intelligence across various practice areas.

Professionals interested in observing Jus AI 2 in action can attend a live webinar scheduled for September 11, 2025, at 10 a.m. ET, hosted by De Maistre and the company’s Head of Data and AI, Ayushman Dash.
