The Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC) has unveiled a substantial transformation of its board of directors, increasing the number of board seats from nine to 16 members. This represents the largest board expansion in the organization’s decade-long history. This move marks a significant shift for CLOC as it welcomes legal technology and service providers into its leadership for the first time, signifying a strategic attempt to incorporate diverse industry perspectives in driving change across the legal profession.
Oyango Snell, CLOC’s executive director, emphasized that the new board composition signals a commitment to representing voices across various industries and regions. The goal is to push forward the practice of legal operations on a global scale. This structural and leadership reshaping also includes the introduction of new board roles—board chair and chair-elect—and a transition to a fully volunteer board.
Further governance updates involve redesignating the executive director position to president and CEO, all in line with association best practices to better serve CLOC’s 6,500 members worldwide. “In the AI era, shaping the future of legal operations requires our collective ingenuity,” remarked Áine Lyons, CLOC president and SVP and deputy general counsel at Workday.
The restructured board, which will start its term in January 2026, features a mix of legal operations professionals and individuals from technology companies, highlighting the organization’s push towards inclusivity and innovation.
The newly elected directors include:
- Jerry Levine, chief evangelist and general counsel at ContractPodAI,
- Colin Levy, general counsel at Malbek,
- Richard Robinson, director of client success at Epiq
In addition, the roster features professionals from some of the world’s leading companies, including Mark Allen from Zillow, Donovan Bell from Intel, and Kirsten Taitelbaum from Sutter Health, among others. Current members who will continue to contribute include Frances Pomposo from Intuitive and Laura Dieudonné from Delta Air Lines.
This board restructuring positions CLOC to better navigate the dynamic landscape of legal operations and underscores their strategy of collaboration between in-house counsel and tech innovators. Further details on this development can be found on LawNext.
