Clio, a renowned player in the legal tech sphere, has unveiled notable advancements to its suite of AI products, further cementing its presence in the ever-evolving legal landscape. The updates include integrating agentic capabilities into Clio Work and launching a standalone Vincent by Clio mobile app for both iOS and Android devices.
Last year, Clio CEO Jack Newton introduced Clio Work at ClioCon, describing it as part of the company’s vision for an intelligent legal work platform aimed at bridging the gap between the business and practice of law. The latest enhancement to Clio Work sees the incorporation of agentic capabilities, which allows the platform to autonomously manage complex, multi-step tasks, significantly reducing manual input from legal professionals.
The updated Clio Work operates on a “skills infrastructure” designed to handle tasks executed through a single natural-language prompt. This means that legal practitioners can now provide goal-oriented instructions, such as “build a defense strategy” or “identify risks before contract signing,” and Clio Work takes on the responsibility of executing the necessary steps to achieve these goals. The platform provides real-time feedback, offering users insights into task progression and the ability to intervene or modify proceedings when necessary.
John Foreman, Clio’s chief product officer, remarked that these capabilities empower legal professionals to delegate intricate tasks to a cooperative AI assistant while maintaining oversight and transparency in their workflows. Impressively, Clio has observed that a significant proportion of AI queries, precisely 84%, are submitted as goal-based requests, aligning naturally with how attorneys prefer to communicate.
In addition to Clio Work’s enhancements, Clio has released the Vincent mobile app, extending its AI-driven legal capabilities to smartphones. This app provides lawyers with the ability to pose questions, analyze documents, and receive well-researched answers from their mobile devices. It integrates seamlessly with Clio Work accounts, ensuring that the analytical insights are contextualized with real-time client communications, deadlines, and case activities. Users benefit from a continuous workflow experience, effortlessly transitioning from mobile to desktop without losing critical context.
The Vincent by Clio mobile app is now accessible on both iOS and Android platforms, broadening the reach and utility of Clio’s legal AI solutions to legal professionals on-the-go.
