NetDocuments Expands AI Tools for Legal Professionals Ahead of ILTACON 2026

NetDocuments, a prominent document management company, has expanded its AI capabilities with the introduction of two new tools designed to enhance the workflow of legal professionals. Unveiled just ahead of ILTACON 2026, which kicks off in Nashville, Tenn. this Sunday, these advancements represent a strategic move to integrate more sophisticated technologies into legal operations.

The first addition, Tabular Review, transforms document analysis by allowing collections to be reviewed in a structured table format. This tool caters to a variety of tasks, such as due diligence and compliance assessments, by converting each document into a row and user-defined questions into columns. Users have the flexibility to manually set up columns or use AI-generated recommendations. As the AI extracts key terms, it offers direct links back to the source text, providing a comprehensive snapshot for complex document evaluations.

The functionality of Tabular Review is further enhanced by allowing configurations to be saved for future use and results to be exported seamlessly to Excel. In doing so, documents remain under a firm’s security controls and adhere to existing policies. According to Scott Kelly, NetDocuments’ vice president of product, the tool can efficiently process thousands of documents with up to 100 columns, paving the way for robust document analysis.

The second addition, known as Legal Authorities, furthers the capabilities of the Legal Context Graph introduced by NetDocuments earlier this year. As documents, including briefs and memos, are saved to the platform, the AI extracts case citations and maps them out, enhancing firm-wide access to referenced legal authorities. By linking these citations to CourtListener, users can navigate directly to full case texts, streamlining legal research and citation tracking.

This enhanced Legal Context Graph feature provides immediate insight into how legal references are utilized across documents, with citations tied to specific sentences. According to Dan Hauck, Chief Product Officer at NetDocuments, the continuous extraction of such data will bolster the firm’s overall ability to leverage institutional knowledge and improve AI tools for law firms and corporate legal departments navigating complex legal landscapes.

As these features roll out, initially in both the classic and redesigned interfaces, NetDocuments asserts its commitment to a platform that evolves with the needs of over 7,000 firms and legal departments globally. The incorporation of these innovations reflects the current legal technology focus on the integration of AI to enhance analytical capabilities and streamline workflows.
