The American Legal Technology Awards has unveiled the finalists for its seventh annual event, recognizing significant achievements and innovations in legal technology across various categories. This year, the competition drew 234 submissions, culminating in an announcement of winners during a gala dinner scheduled for October 25 at Suffolk University Law School in Boston.
A diverse panel of judges, comprising legal innovation experts and thought leaders, selected the finalists. The awards program maintained its inclusive ethos by allowing free nominations and encouraging self-nominations. “Every year I think the field has reached its ceiling, and every year these finalists prove me wrong,” said Tom Martin, co-founder of the Awards. “In a world racing toward AI, this group keeps pointing the technology at the people who need it most. These are remarkable humans doing the work that makes the law more accessible, more affordable, and more human.”
The finalists span ten categories:
- A2J: Frontline Justice, Julio Oyhanarte / Immigration TV, Stanford Rhode Center and Legal Design Lab
- Court: Austin Community Court’s Mobile Court Team, Illinois Court Help, LA County Courts/Stanford
- Education: David Colarusso, Korin Munsterman, Tracy L.M. Norton
- Enterprise: Benchly, Epiq AI, Harbor
- Individual: Aliza Shatzman, Amanda Brown, Claire Robinson
- Journalism: Jennifer Leonard, Stephanie Everett and Zack Glaser, Steven Lerner
- Startup: Project Fortress, Skribe.ai, Techtivist

- Artificial Intelligence: Ashley Oborn / Lone Star Legal Aid, Frontline Justice / Frontline Q, OpenLaws
A Lifetime Achievement award will also be presented at the gala, although no finalists are announced in this category as it honors a singular figure. The evening will include a formal dinner and ceremony to recognize the winning entries. Those interested in attending can purchase tickets, with early bird pricing valid until September 30, 2026.
