iManage AI Unveiled, Revolutionizing Document Management with Enhanced Search and Security Features

iManage, a prominent document management company, has unveiled a new artificial intelligence search engine at the recent ILTACON convention in Orlando. Known as iManage AI, this cutting-edge tool is integrated directly into iManage’s cloud platform with the principal aim of assisting customers in boosting productivity, deriving greater value from their knowledge assets, and safeguarding their data from potential security risks.

Foremost in the capabilities of iManage AI is a document classification and enrichment engine that has the potential to enhance significantly the platform’s content workflows and knowledge search. Constructed on models trained on tens of thousands of legal documents, iManage AI can autonomously review documents, extracting vital data points – such as jurisdictions, parties, or dates – and storing that information with the document. As a result, users can identify specific pieces of information with precision, and leverage them to streamline their work procedures, improving both productivity and efficiency.

Commenting on the power of iManage AI, An Trotter, senior director of operations within the Office of General Counsel at Hearst, provided a statement via iManage in which she articulated, “iManage AI has automated the process whereby documents in iManage Work are analyzed by the AI engine, which makes an accurate prediction on the type of each document, applies metadata and pushes them back into the document management system so that they are searchable.

Security and confidentiality, crucial factors for any AI implementation, especially within the legal field, were not overlooked in the development process. iManage AI includes robust governance tools, explicitly enabling control over the search engine’s access to documents, to prevent any breach of client confidentiality. The search engine only reviews documents located in the customer’s own data resource, maintaining complete confidentiality and ensuring adherence to regulatory and ethical obligations.

Neil Araujo, CEO of iManage, emphasized the company’s commitment to ethical and effective AI use and the importance of working with a reliable partner who understands the associated risks and how to mitigate them.

iManage is also actively collaborating with users through its Early Access Program, to scrutinize the results of its generative AI, and to verify that its approach includes suitable security and governance protections.
