In a recent interview with Law.com International, Brent Botha, the incoming CEO of Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa, has affirmed his commitment to focus on his executive responsibilities. Botha, currently head of disputes at the firm, is set to assume his role as CEO on 1st October.
While he acknowledges the “bitter-sweetness” of departing the disputes practice, Botha emphasized the importance of his upcoming role. He stated, “There is a legacy matter that I will keep working on, but the new work that comes in will be routed to the team that has been supporting me, and to the rest of the partners.”
This decision, as illuminated in the earlier announcement of his appointment, reflects Botha’s determination to dedicate his full-time effort towards executive leadership, rather than splitting his attention as a practicing attorney.
