Ashurst’s global CEO, Mr. Paul Jenkins, has clarified that the law firm is not contemplating a merger with a U.S. entity at this moment. This comes amid persistent speculation surrounding the firm’s expansion strategy in the North American legal market.
Jenkins underscored that Ashurst’s current strategy is primarily centered around “organic growth”. The firm, Jenkins said, continues to assess opportunities for growth in the U.S, nevertheless, the focus remains on organic expansion.
The CEO’s comments were made soon after the firm reported a global revenue rise of 10% to £879 million for the 2022/23 financial year. However, despite the increase in income, Ashurst’s profit per equity partner (PEP) figures have remained unaltered.
