Portuguese Law Firms Experience Strategic Shift as CS’Associados Appoints New Competition Head

Portuguese law firm CS’Associados has announced the appointment of a new head for its European and competition area. The position was vacated by Margarida Rosado da Fonseca, who left the firm at the end of February, and has now been filled by Gonçalo Machado Borges, formerly of rival firm Morais Leitão.

Prior to his move to CS’Associados, Borges had an impressive track record at Morais Leitão, where his contributions significantly strengthened the firm’s standings in the European and competition law sector. The move indicates a strategic reshuffling at both firms, reflecting the ongoing evolution and competition in Portugal’s legal landscape.

Following her departure from CS’Associados, Margarida Rosado da Fonseca joined Telles last month, where she now presides over its EU and competition law practice.
