Mitsubishi Chemical and a former in-house attorney who claimed she was overlooked for a promotion and subsequently dismissed on the grounds of her gender have unequivocally concluded their legal dispute. The disagreement drew to a close once the chemical giant opted to retract a proposal for sanctions which were meant to be invoked following the company’s triumph over her allegations in July.
The verdict in favour of Mitsubishi Chemical was reached earlier this summer, and in retaliation for the lawsuit filed by the former employee, the company sought to impose sanctions. However, these plans have now been withdrawn, leading to an end of the protracted judicial scuffle.
