Quinn Emanuel Targets Southeast Asia with Proposed Singapore Office Expansion

Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, noted trial firm, is expanding its international operations against the backdrop of an economic downturn. The firm has recently established offices in locations including Beijing and the UAE. The firm is now also eyeing entry into the Southeast Asian market with a proposed Singapore entity.

The firm announced its intent to apply for a Foreign Law Practice (FLP) license, which if approved, would allow the launch of an office in Singapore. This would enhance its reach within the Asia Pacific region. Once the FLP application gets approved, Duncan Watson, its Hong Kong international arbitration partner, is slated for relocation to Singapore to take the lead in its new office. John Rhie, the long-serving managing partner of its Hong Kong office and head of its Asia international arbitration practice, is expected to lend his support to this new venture on a fly-in-fly-out basis.

The recent Asian office launches by Quinn Emanuel demonstrate a response to increased client demand and requirements relevant to complex, substantial commercial litigation, and investigations within the region. For more details, read the complete article on Law.com.
