In a quest for a vendor-neutral solution to generative AI training for legal professionals, 10 Am Law 200 firms and one Global 200 firm, including Norton Rose and Hogan Lovells, have signed up to pilot and influence SkillBurst Interactive’s AI training program. The program aims to develop training materials that are less technical, more relevant, and not overly general, addressing the need for specific use-case scenarios in the legal profession. Traditional AI training has been either too simplistic, irrelevant or overly technical for legal professionals, necessitating this focused approach.
In most cases, AI training is centered around early-development tools that are highly susceptible to change due to an acquisition or product developments in the parent company. This can often compromise the applicability of the training to the specific needs of legal professionals, necessitating the focused approach that SkillBurst Interactive and the law firms are looking to undertake.
The agreement between the firms and SkillBurst Interactive was announced on Tuesday, and it signifies a major advancement toward developing an AI training program that sharply caters to the needs of the legal profession. This technical training is aimed at equipping the professional workers with “the basics” on how to effectively use emerging AI tools in their practice.
