Rutgers Law School recently received a largesse from The Stephanie and Harold Krieger Charitable Trust to the tune of $6.5 million, the second largest donation in the institution’s history. This substantial contribution is intended to bolster the school’s legal clinics, specifically creating a new study arena dedicated to the champion of women’s legal rights.
Set to be named the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Women’s Rights and Gender Justice Clinic, the new Rutgers initiative will have $5.5 million allocated towards its establishment. This sum, representing a significant part of the donation, underscores the initiative’s primary objective: to advance women’s rights and support gender justice, staying true to its namesake’s life-long mission. Ginsburg, a former Supreme Court Justice, is widely remembered as a fierce advocate for gender equality and women’s rights. The remaining $1 million will also go towards other projects within the law school.
