Many Biglaw firms have the habit of waiting until the end of the day to declare changes in compensation, presumably to limit the disruption to their day-to-day productivity. Notwithstanding, this tactic seems to overlook the growing anticipation that can build among associates, persistently refreshing news sites for updates as they await reports of changes at their own firms.
The latest announcement in associate law firm compensation comes from Debevoise & Plimpton.
Last year, Debevoise & Plimpton showcased a gross revenue of $1,329,700,000, positioning it at No. 35 on the Am Law 100. Therefore, it is unsurprising that it would keep pace with other high-ranking Biglaw firms in terms of associate compensation. The firm has disclosed a scale that matches the standard previously set by Cravath Law Firm.
This is certainly welcome news for associates at Debevoise & Plimpton, who can now look forward to considerable raises.
