A former federal defender for North Carolina’s Western District has recently testified in a federal trial denying retaliation against a colleague. The incident involved the removal of the attorney involved from a high-profile case.
The attorney alleged that she was taken off the case as a form of retaliation for the sexual harassment complaints she had made against a higher authority. However, the former federal defender steadfastly contested these claims. He instead cited her removal on the grounds of her not being a “team player”. This matter is still under judicial review.
