Previously last week, Neal Sidhwaney of Florida admitted guilt to the allegation of his threat towards a Supreme Court justice. As reported in Politico, the sentence arises from a voicemail that Sidhwaney sent on the last day of July 2023, incorporating two threats aimed at a Supreme Court justice.
In an intriguing twist, the identity of the Supreme Court justice target of the threats was left undisclosed in the prosecutor’s briefing and statement delivered on Monday. Nevertheless, during a court-mandated psychological assessment, Sidhwaney confessed to threatening Chief Justice John Roberts.
As disclosed in the court reporting, within the voicemail, Sidhwaney identified himself and stated he had a message for U.S. Marshals to deliver to Roberts. An eye-catching part of this message included the chilling words, “I will fucking kill you,” as documented within a court document associated with last week’s plea hearing.
From the psychological screening’s outcome, it was deduced that Sidhwaney suffers from “delusional disorder with psychosis” and has been undergoing therapy for the same.
Sidhwaney has been serving time behind bars ever since his arrest in August. Currently, he confronts a potential sentence of up to five years in prison on the felony count of making an interstate threat to injure.
