Renowned legal firm Kirkland & Ellis has confirmed that two of its veteran partners, Nicholas Norris and David Zhang, are soon to leave the company’s Hong Kong practice. The news comes a little more than a decade after Norris and Zhang joined Kirkland alongside six other partners in a significant team hiring viewed as one of the most newsworthy within the Hong Kong legal market at that time. All of their six colleagues have since moved on.
Nicholas Norris is set to join GLP Capital Partners as managing director based in Hong Kong. David Zhang, on the other hand, is preparing for retirement, and plans to officially part ways with Kirkland at the end of January. We must note, however, that information on both parties’ future plans might be limited due to the fact that full details are currently only available behind a paywall.
