Stacey Grigsby Returns to Covington, Boosting Government Litigation Practice

Stacey Grigsby, who formerly served as the deputy White House counsel to President Biden, has returned to Covington & Burling. In her new role, she’ll be serving as a litigation partner based in the firm’s Washington office, according to a statement made by the firm this Thursday.

Grigsby’s responsibilities will include co-chairing the government litigation practice. Additionally, she will assume roles within the commercial litigation and institutional culture and social responsibility practices.

Throughout her tenure at the White House Counsel’s Office, Grigsby played a vital role in advising the president and other high-ranking officials on matters related to civil rights. She collaborated extensively with several top brass figures at the Justice Department, says Covington.

In her new role, she will represent clients in a variety of legal disputes. These may include contesting government actions, contract disputes, bid protests, as well as allegations of misconduct and fraud. This move follows the common trend of professionals transitioning from public service roles into private practice, bringing their deep experience to their clients and the firms they join.
