Global law firm White & Case is expanding its commercial litigation practice to South Africa. The expansion includes hiring Darryl Bernstein, former regional disputes head of Baker McKenzie. Bernstein, who was a partner and the head of the disputes resolution practice group in Johannesburg, had been with Baker McKenzie for 11 years.
The Johannesburg practice of White & Case has been consistently growing its Africa practice. From a regional ranking of 21st in 2023, the firm has now become the 16th largest practice in the region. The firm now boasts approximately 83 lawyers.
