Amazon and Twitch Seek Dismissal of Video Streaming Patent-Infringement Lawsuit

On Wednesday, Amazon, the online retail behemoth, along with its subsidiary streaming platform Twitch, petitioned a federal judge in California to dismiss a patent-infringement lawsuit leveled against them over video streaming technology. In their defense, both Amazon and Twitch argued that the nitpicked patent was invalid on the grounds that the claimed invention brought no innovation or novelty to the table. As they put it, there was “nothing special, nothing new” about it.
