Husch Blackwell, a leading law firm, has secured two significant additions to its energy and natural resources industry group with the recruitment of Brian Potts and David Zoppo. These two individuals will be joining the team as partners, enhancing the firm’s capabilities in its Madison, Wis., office.
According to the announcement by Husch Blackwell, Brian Potts has extensive experience in representing companies in contested case hearings at the state and federal levels. He has aided his clients in obtaining regulatory approvals for a variety of large-scale projects, including conventional power plants, transmission lines, wind farms, and solar facilities.
David Zoppo, on the other hand, specialises in defending clients in administrative proceedings and contested case hearings at both state and federal levels. Part of his extensive portfolio includes providing counsel to clients on compliance issues under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act.
Before joining Husch Blackwell, both Potts and Zoppo were associated with Perkins Coie. This move indicates Husch Blackwell’s drive to further expand and strengthen their energy and environmental practice with the addition of experienced partners.
