Sidley Austin, a notable law firm, has recently announced its new appointments. Gregory Williams and Richard Smith now join the firm’s litigation practice group as partners, as indicated in their press release published last Tuesday.
Williams takes on a significant role, as he accepts the position of co-leader of the global arbitration, business and advocacy practice group. He brings with him extensive experience, having provided legal counsel for companies represented in the defense, aerospace, real estate, technology, and financial sectors. His involvement in commercial arbitration and investor-state disputes also provides further depth to his legal proficiency.
Smith, however, contributes to Sidley Austin with his broad commercial litigation experience. His previous work has covered numerous industries including environmental, healthcare, intellectual property, antitrust, product liability, and complex litigation. Both recruits promise to bring their extensive expertise and knowledge to their new respective roles.
Williams served as head of the global disputes practice at his previous firm, Wiley Rein, where he was also a member of the management committee.
More details on these appointments can be found on the original Bloomberg Law report.
