Delaware Federal Judge Dismisses Power Integrations’ Case against IP Edge

In a recently decided case, Delaware’s top federal judge has declined to consider the arguments put forth by California-based chipmaker Power Integrations. The company had argued that several “not to sue” agreements it had with a consortium of patent litigation entities, most notably IP Edge, were legally void.

Power Integrations had sought to maintain that the agreements were “meaningless” and without any legal bearing. However, this stance was not upheld in court, ending the chipmaker’s case against IP Edge.

As a key player in the thriving semiconductor industry, Power Integrations’ litigation with IP Edge has been the subject of much interest amongst legal professionals. While the decision to end the case is significant, the implications for similar disputes in the future remain to be seen.
