On Wednesday, a New York federal judge dismissed approximately $200 million in damages that the IT services provider TriZetto, a Cognizant subsidiary, had won in a lawsuit against Syntel for alleged misappropriation of trade secrets and copyright infringement. The judge ruled the awards calculation to be incorrect.
TriZetto had initially achieved a significant legal victory against Syntel, accumulating hefty damages. However, recent court developments have now rescinded those monetary awards.
