USPTO Director Vacates PTAB Decision, Demands Clarity for Nokia Patent Challenge Refusals

U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Director Kathi Vidal has vacated the Patent Trial and Appeal Board’s (PTAB) refusal to acknowledge three patent contestations lodged by multinational corporation Nokia. Vidal has advised the board to articulate its stance more clearly, particularly concerning its assertion that the patent office had previously taken into account the invalidity arguments presented by Nokia.
