Addleshaw Goddard, a leading law firm from the U.K., recently announced the inauguration of its 19th office situated in Madrid. Interestingly, the expansion has been facilitated by the acquisition of Spanish operations of King Wood Mallesons (KWM). As per the statement, the firm has absorbed all 13 partners of KWM’s Madrid office along with their teams, resulting in an initial troop of over 70 lawyers in the Madrid office.
The launch in Madrid comes in the wake of KWM’s previous tie-up with Eversheds, which had some legal heads hunting for a shift. It appears that Addleshaws has played an intelligent move harnessing this situation, building its presence in a new geographical region bringing on board experienced teams.
