Tim Gardner, the Hong Kong managing partner and co-head of the Asia private equity practice at Weil Gotshal & Manges, has recently departed the firm. He left to join PAG, an Asian private equity investment firm, taking on his new role as its general counsel. “It has been a privilege to co-head the Weil, Gotshal & Manges Asia private equity team over the past six plus years,” Gardner stated in a LinkedIn post.
Concurrent with this change, speculation has begun about the future of the firm’s Asia presence. If Weil Gotshal & Manges opted to close down its operation in Shanghai, that would leave only its Hong Kong office in Asia.
