Columbia University Restricts Campus Access Amid Escalating Pro-Palestinian Protests

In the wake of escalating pro-Palestinian protests, Columbia Law School and the main grounds of Columbia University have been closed to the general public. The decision came in response to protesters entering a campus building, with significant damage reported, including broken door glass and banners being waved from windows.

The university made an announcement early Tuesday, stating that effective immediately, access to the Morningside campus would be limited. The new policy only permits students living in specific residential buildings (Carman, Furnald, John Jay, Hartley, Wallach, East Campus and Wien) and employees providing essential services to campus buildings, labs, and residential student life, to access the campus and its buildings. This was confirmed in an update posted on Tuesday morning.

The situation continues to evolve and further information can be found in the original article on New York Law Journal .
