LexPrize Innovation Award to Honor Legal Knowledge Management Breakthroughs

A newly announced award, the LexPrize Innovation Award, aims to recognize substantial contributions to the advancement and innovation of knowledge management within the legal profession. Announced today, the award will form a part of the Knowledge Management & Innovation for Legal (KM&I) conference to be held in New York City this October.

Conference organizer, Patrick DiDomenico, founder and CEO of InspireKM Consulting, expressed that the inspiration for the award came from productive accounts of innovation featured during the 2023 KM&I for Legal Conference.

The LexPrize award is programmed specifically to salute those innovations that leave significant impressions on the KM&I community. It aims to acknowledge changes that meaningfully enhance the user experience concerning the law practice and its business aspects.

Eligibility for the award extends to any member of a law firm or a corporate legal department. The award recipient will be chosen based on the fulfillment of three primary criteria:

  1. A catalyst for change: The project or initiative shows remarkable and novel impact upon the organization.
  2. Planning and execution: The project or initiative showcases strategic foresight and successful implementation.
  3. A model for change: The project or initiative acts as an exemplar of positive behavior change and augments user experience within the organization.

Application lines for the LexPrize award are open today and will accept entries until August 30, 2024. On September 20, 2024, three finalists will be chosen and notified. Those three finalists will then present their projects in a special session at the KM&I for Legal conference on October 17, 2024.

The selection of the three finalists will be managed by the conference’s advisory board. Eventually, the final winner will be decided through an attendee vote at the conference. The victor will be formally announced during the cocktail reception following the day’s activities.

As an additional feature, throughout the conference, the media sponsor will conduct interviews with the three finalists regarding their projects on the LawNext podcast.
