US Government Ousts Chinese Crypto Mining Firm from Property Near Sensitive Air Force Base

In a recent incident, the US government ordered a Chinese crypto mining corporation, MineOne Partners Ltd., to vacate land it owns near an Air Force Base located in Wyoming. The government cited concerns that the company “might take action that threatens to impair the national security” of the United States, according to a Bloomberg report.

MineOne Partners Ltd. and its affiliates purchased the real estate property in question back in 2022. The property is situated close to the F.E. Warren Air Force Base, which houses the United States’ nuclear missiles. Now, the White House announced in an order, these affiliated units and companies must divest this real estate.

The US authorities, including those at the White House and Treasury Department, have raised concerns about the operations of foreign firms close to sensitive national security installations, the recent case with MineOne also falls under this issue.

This incident is part of a much larger debate regarding the increasing influence of crypto mining companies and the potential threat their operations might pose to national security, particularly when such operations are conducted by foreign entities.

The decision to remove MineOne from the property, however, sparks a broader debate on the relationship between national security and the growing global influence of crypto mining companies.
