International law firm Bird & Bird is preparing to initiate operations in Tokyo, a milestone that marks the firm’s first international expansion according to its five-year strategy declared in February. This move has been amplified with the recruitment of Hiroyuki Iwamura, a prominent corporate partner from Ashurst.
Iwamura, formerly at the helm of Ashurst’s UK/European Japanese group, spent 14 years molding his reputation in the legal sector and honing his expertise in advising Japanese companies venturing into the UK and EU markets. Prior to Ashurst, he held positions at reputable law firms, including Herbert Smith Freehills and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, as stated on his LinkedIn profile.
