French pharmaceutical giant Servier is back on the hook for all but €2.4 million ($2.57 million) of a more than €300 million European Union antitrust fine after the European Court of Justice upended a lower court decision that had reduced the penalty by over €100 million. The recent ruling reinstates the bulk of the original fine imposed on Servier for engaging in pay-for-delay agreements, which are deals that delay the entry of cheaper generic drugs into the market.
