Mark Lemley Receives Prestigious IP and Antitrust Law Awards

Mark Lemley, the William H. Neukom Professor of Law and the director of the Stanford Program in Law, Science & Technology, has recently been honored with significant awards in the fields of intellectual property (IP) and antitrust law. A highly regarded figure in legal academia, Lemley’s contributions continue to shape the contours of modern legal thought.

The ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law has selected Lemley as the 2024 Mark T. Banner Honoree, a recognition that celebrates notable figures in IP law who have reached prominence in the profession. This accolade highlights Lemley’s vast influence and enduring impact on intellectual property scholarship.

In addition to this honor, Lemley, in collaboration with UC Law San Francisco professor Robin Feldman, won the 2023 American Antitrust Institute’s Jerry S. Cohen Memorial Fund Writing Award for the Best Antitrust Article. Their award-winning paper, titled “Atomistic Antitrust,” was published in the William & Mary Law Review, where it offered a novel analysis of antitrust issues by advocating for an atomistic approach to competition law.
