Omni Bridgeway Seeks to Shift Apple Document Dispute to California Court

Litigation funder Omni Bridgeway LLC has requested that a Delaware judge transfer a records dispute with Apple Inc. to the Northern District of California. The dispute centers around records related to MPH Technologies Oy, which Apple subpoenaed from Omni earlier this month. This move comes nearly six years after the lesser-known Finnish company MPH Technologies Oy initially filed its lawsuit.

Omni Bridgeway stated it had informed Apple during informal negotiations in May and several instances thereafter that it would agree to address the records issue in Northern California, where the primary lawsuit is pending. However, Apple has opposed this transfer request, according to filings from the funder. The situation adds another layer to the ongoing complexities of this longstanding legal battle, drawing attention from legal professionals and corporate counsels.
