A Georgia jury has delivered accountability in the form of a $16.2 million verdict to the family of a child struck by an Amazon delivery driver in 2022. After a four-day trial, Gwinnett County State Court jurors returned the verdict against Amazon Logistics, establishing the e-commerce giant’s responsibility for the conduct of its service partners’ delivery drivers.
Prevailing plaintiffs counsel Joe Fried of Golberg Fried in Atlanta noted, “This verdict establishes that Amazon is responsible for the system it created and for the drivers that deliver Amazon packages to Amazon customers.”
