In 2019, attorney Leslie Corwin filed a lawsuit against Tom Girardi and his firm, Girardi Keese, on behalf of a litigation lender owed repayment on a $12 million loan. The confrontation escalated when Girardi claimed the loan was for his clients, not himself, and labeled Corwin’s efforts to attach his personal assets as
“fraudulent, slanderous and an abuse of the legal process.”
